This Privacy Policy relates to all of the
operations within the Consultel Group ("Consultel") of Companies,
and includes information collected from the Company's website
("www.consultel.com.au".)
Consultel is committed to protecting your privacy. Amendments to the
Federal Privacy Act were introduced in December 2001 to protect the
use of personal information, which is defined as information from
which it is possible to identify an individual. This includes a
person's name, address and contact numbers. Our Privacy Policy
explains the circumstances under which personal information will be
collected, used and safeguarded and those instances under which it
will be disclosed to third parties.

Consultel is a provider of professional
services, including consulting, recruitment and managed services.

Why Does Consultel Collect Information About
You?
To achieve our business aims, it is necessary
for Consultel to obtain certain information about you for one or
more of the following purposes:
- To assist you in finding or retaining work;
- To assist you in career or performance
management; and
- To assist Consultel in managing customer
and business relationships.
What Information Does Consultel Gather About
You?
The type of personal information we collect
about you includes your name, mailing address, phone and fax
numbers, e-mail address, employment history and qualifications, as
well as the details of psychological tests or other assessment
results.
Sometimes we may collect sensitive information about you, such as
details of your health or any criminal record that you may have.
When we collect sensitive information we will obtain your specific
consent.
There may be occasions when we obtain information about you from a
third party. This may include performance feedback about your work
or reports from your nominated referees. Your personal and sensitive
information will always be collected by fair and lawful means.
How Will Consultel Use And Disclose Your
Information?
Consultel will use your information in a way
that is consistent with, or directly related to, the purpose for
which it was collected, such as finding you employment.
Consultel may disclose your information to:
- Potential Employers;
- Consultel customers who may wish to engage you as a contractor or temporary;
- Referees;
- A Worker's Compensation body; and
- Suppliers of services to Consultel.
Consultel will seek your consent to use and
disclose your information. If you do not provide us with this
consent we may be limited in our ability to provide you with our
services.
Security of Your Information
Your personal and sensitive information may be
stored electronically or in hardcopy. Procedures are in place to
protect the security of these records.
Making Sure Your Information Is Accurate
If you inform Consultel of changes in your information, we will
endeavour to update and correct your records. Consultel may also
contact you or take other reasonable steps to ensure that your
information is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
Gaining Access To Your Information & Making Complaints
If you would like to gain access to the information we hold about
you or if you wish to make a complaint about how Consultel deals
with your personal and sensitive information, please contact our
Privacy Coordinator by writing to the address above.
We will deal with your request to provide information within a
reasonable time and may seek payment for any reasonable costs
associated with providing information to you.
Your Rights As A Candidate
- Consultel does not charge you a fee for the purpose of finding you employment;
- Consultel will not engage in misleading or deceptive conduct (such as advertising a position as being available when the agency knows no such position exists or knowingly giving misleading information to a job seeker about the nature of a position);
and
- If you believe Consultel has acted
inappropriately you may contact the Department of Fair Trading
in your state for information on possible action that may be
taken.
