Prince Abdulaziz Bin Mousaed Economic City (PABMEC) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is being planned by the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA). PABMEC is a key element in Saudi Arabia’s recent initiative to further develop its economy, to generate regional growth and to create employment opportunities for its youthful population.
The new city will be developed near Ha’il in the northern region of the Kingdom, under the supervision of SAGIA. PABMEC is spread over 156 Km2 and will be developed to include world-leading features, making it a true smart city.
These advanced features will be implemented across a range of sectors, but the telecommunications and IT infrastructure will support most of these features, ranging from smart-grid electricity, intelligent traffic monitoring / management, high-speed Internet connectivity and many others.
Consultel is assisting Al Mal Investment Company (AMIC) with strategic ICT advice for this new SmartCity that will accommodate around 500,000 people. Consultel is providing a team of specialists to deliver detailed ICT designs (inside and outside plant, data centres, etc.) as well as facilitating operational relationships between SAGIA, AMIC, carriers, service providers and vendors.
Consultel has provided operational, cost and revenue modelling to Ernst & Young for the implementation of this city. Consultel has also provided master planning recommendations to KEO for this city
